Essential Site Information

Checking in & checking out
As a guide we suggest  a check in time of 4pm and check out 11am.
We are friendly and accommodating !! so we are happy for you to arrive early but turning up around midnight is not to be encouraged!

Cooking, Heating and Washing
In the cabin are a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge with small freezer compartment.
There is a range of cooking implements including bowls, colanders, salad spinners, openers plus china and crockery for 8 and a tea pot and cafetiere.
Outside is a large gas BBQ with one ring burner.
There is also a traditional coal BBQ .Both are provided with the necessary utensils for cooking.
There are also facilities for campfire cooking: including  a tripod, two trivets, 4 Dutch ovens, one griddle, two fry pan,two saucepans and a kettle.

The first basket of firewood is provided and then following baskets need to be bought at £5.50 per basket.

There is an undercounter fridge with small freezer.

There is  heating in the caravans and they warm up very quickly.  A single plug socket is available in each caravan.  Microwaveable wheat bags are provided for the beds if required.
The log cabin has two halogen heaters which makes it toasty warm.

In the wagons lighting is provided by lanterns and each wagon has two windup LED torches.
The cabin has electric lighting and a sensor light .
The toilet has solar lighting and lanterns.

Washing    ( Eco friendly products only please – these are provided )
There is a sink and hot water in the cabin and organic washing up products are provided. There is also a large cold water sink in the lean- to of the cabin.

There is one electric hot water shower in the lean- to next to the cabin and organic shower products are provided.

Composting toilet which is 50 yards away from the wagons

Bed Linen
All the linen and towels are provided.
The duvets are duck down and the sheets are Egyptian cotton. However hypoallergenic duvets can be provided if required.

Plug sockets
There are plug sockets in the cabin and one in each caravan.

Activities and Entertainment
There is a selection of board games, memory games, playing cards and  books in the cabin. There is also a guitar and a ukulele ! and colouring for the children of local wildlife.

Local Shops

The nearest shop for basics is:
Markington Village PO and General Store      Mon – Sat  7am-6pm   Sun – 7am-12pm
The village shop has a selection of food, bread, milk, newspapers, wine and you are always served with a smile .
Post Office: Mon-Fri 9-5pm except Thursday 9-12.30pm

The closest supermarket is Morrisons on the outskirts of Ripon. Harrogate Road, HG42SB
Booths Supermarket in Ripon has a wonderful selection of locally sourced meats and cheeses and good fresh fruit and vegetables.

Every Thursday there is a market in Ripon on the market square, selling fresh fruit, produce, fish and household goods.
